Purchasing Your Domain

Generic Top Level Domains (e.g. .com. .org, .net)

1 Go to Namecheap.com.

2 Type in your desired domain name and hit the search button (magnifying glass).

3 Once you’ve found one you want, hit ‘Add to cart’

4 Go to your cart. 

  • Select how many years you want to buy it for
  • Select if you want it to renew (and charge you) automatically

5 Select the free WHO IS guard to protect your privacy

6 Select ‘Premium DNS’ if you want to, but this is not necessary. (More info here)

7 Hit ‘Confirm order’ then sign in (existing customer) or create an account (new customer) and pay!

Make sure to take careful note of your user name and password.

Australian Domains (e.g. .com.au)

1  Go to Crazydomains.com.au

2 Type in your desired domain name and hit the search button.

3 Once you’ve found one you want, hit ‘Add to cart’

4 Go to your cart. 

  • Select how many years you want to buy it for
  • Hit ‘Pay Securely’
  • Sign up or log in

5 On the next screen, place a check mark against ‘Protect your domain’. No need to check the other items. 

6 Then hit ‘Continue Order’

7 For .com.au domains, you can only purchase these if you have an ACN, ABN, Trademark etc. Complete your information accordingly, check the box confirming you are eligible then hit ‘Confirm and continue’

8 Pay!

Make sure to take careful note of your user name and password.

Other international domains

Note that Namecheap do NOT offer WhoIs Guard for various international domains described here.

In this instance I recommend you find an alternative domain supplier where you are able to purchase privacy for these domains on registration.
